From November 2025, Ofsted’s revised Education Inspection Framework (EIF) will place Personal Development & Wellbeing at the centre of inspection. For school leaders, the question is not whether you value emotional health, but how you structure, measure and evidence it in a sustainable, inspection-ready way.
This is where Motional’s Whole School Approach comes in - serious about impact, but still with our signature touch of playfulness.
Let's think about how we might use Motional to full effect!
1. Evidence of impact, not just intent
Inspectors want proof that wellbeing initiatives work, not just that they exist.
Motional: Tracks SEMH needs, generates reports, builds case studies for inspection - Think about Need and Change across Cohorts, Interventions and more!
2. Early identification and targeted support
Spotting issues early and providing the right support is a key judgement area.
Motional offers: Neuroscience-based assessments, highlights specific needs, enables tailored interventions. Use the filters in Motional to highlight those whose needs have been met and the impact you've had!
3. Responsibility shared, not siloed
Wellbeing cannot sit in one office - it must exist throughout the school.
With Motional: Teachers, TAs and support staff all contribute via Snapshots and Groupshots and by distributing responsibility across all levels of staff, Management and Leadership!
4. Observation-based measurement (not just surveys!)
Pupil voice matters, but inspectors want structured evidence.
Motional: Snapshots capture observable indicators, RAG ratings track change, data is auditable!
5. Embedding ethos, CPD & continuity
Ofsted will expect wellbeing to be woven into CPD, policy and culture.
With Motional: Organisational Snapshot + Action Plans, along with training and shared language, embed consistency.
6. Strategic visibility and resource targeting
Leaders need to demonstrate how they use data to make decisions.
With Motional: Dashboards and cohort filters inform resource allocation and strengthen governance. Suggested Advice and Activities in Programs (generated by Motional) prioritise the highest areas of need based on Groupshot/Snapshot scores.
7. A narrative of continuous improvement
Inspectors want to see a journey, not just isolated projects.
With Motional: Longitudinal tracking + Individual and Group Profile pages demonstrate sustained improvement.
The Ofsted 2025 EIF makes wellbeing a central pillar of inspection. Motional helps schools strengthen support, protect staff time, and provide the evidence Ofsted will expect. In short: Motional doesn’t just help schools do wellbeing - it helps you prove it.
